Treasurer
James D. Grant, M.D. currently serves as the chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Beaumont Health System, professor and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Oakland University, William Beaumont School of Medicine, and is attending staff with Beaumont Hospitals in Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak and Troy, Mich.
In addition to serving as the Society’s Treasurer since 2010, Dr. Grant currently serves as chair of the Section on Fiscal Affairs (since 2010) and serves on the American Medical Association Section Council on Anesthesiology (since 2000). Among his many affiliations, Dr. Grant is chair of the Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors, and served as President of the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists in 1999 and Chair of the Michigan Board of Medicine from 2004-2007.
Dr. Grant received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed his residency in anesthesiology at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Grant is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and was awarded the Michigan Doctors Political Action Committee Distinguished Service Award in 2006.
Dr. Grant and his wife, Lisa Grant, M.D., live in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., with their two children.
