Resident Track
For resident attendees (and if space permitting, general attendees), there is a separate track of presentations on Saturday focusing on basics of practice management.


Discussion Tables
In addition to lectures and panel presentations, the conference offers discussion tables on Saturday evening, where attendees in small groups can discuss particular topics with conference speakers and knowledgeable leaders.


Exhibitors
Exhibitors will represent anesthesia billing and coding companies, staffing services, anesthesia information management systems, and other business consulting organizations related to anesthesia. A list of exhibiting companies will be provided on site.


CME Credit Hours
The American Society of Anesthesiologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The 2010 ASA Conference on Practice Management at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis

The ASA Conference on Practice Management is designed for both physician and non-physician leaders of anesthesiology practices.

The conference program provides information and strategies for improving business practices today and in the future. This year’s program will address challenges caused by change — changes within one’s group including generational issues and employment arrangements, as well as changes from outside, including health care reform, governmental regulations and audits, and competition from other groups.


Pre-Conference Sessions

Two Friday morning and afternoon sessions on topics relating to:

  • The business side of your practice to make you more knowledgeable, especially in the important financial area; models of effective practice culture
  • OR Metrics; Coding and Billing Cases
  • 6 CME Credits for attendance at morning and afternoon sessions

Conference on Practice Management

  • Sessions begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday
  • Saturday sessions include the popular Discussion Tables where you can ask questions of the speakers in small groups
  • Sunday morning sessions that conclude at 11:45 a.m.

Registration Information

The Conference on Practice Management registration is limited to 600 persons. Registration for the separate preconference sessions on Friday is limited to 150.

Priority will be given to members of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and members of the Anesthesia Administration Assembly (AAA). ASA members and AAA members will be registered in the order in which their registrations are received. Nonmembers will be accepted in a similar manner during the final 60 days before the course.


Registration Fees:
Friday Pre-Conference Sessions require a separate registration fee. It is NOT included in the Conference on Practice Management registration fee.

Friday Morning and Afternoon sessions with lunch: $200
Friday Morning session only with lunch: $150
Friday Afternoon session only with lunch: $150

Conference on Practice Management Registration Fees:

The Conference on Practice Management registration fee includes a continental breakfast each morning, lunch on Saturday, refreshment breaks each day and two receptions.

Registration fee must accompany the registration form to guarantee enrollment. Registration is encouraged by December 30, 2009.
