Joint Debt Committee Schedules First Hearings

The Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction has announced its first two hearings.  On Thursday, September 8, 2011, the Committee will meet to establish the committee’s rules.  Then on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, the Committee will hear testimony on “The History and Drivers of Our Nation’s Debt and Its Threats.”
