Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia Part IV Requirement: Simulation Education Course. The MOCA program consists of four parts, Part IV, also known as Practice Performance Assessment and Improvement, requires MOCA candidates to complete both a case evaluation and a simulation course once during their ten-year MOCA cycle. The Penn State Hershey Clinical Center is an ASA-accredited Simulation Program offering ABA endorsed courses eligible for MOCA credit. Participants must be Board certified or Board eligible anesthesiologists, regardless of whether MOCA credit is sought. Anesthesiologists who achieved ABA Board Certification in 2004 or later are required to participate in an appropriate Simulation Education Course at an endorsed Simulation Center. Penn State College of Medicine desigantes this educational activity for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category I Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
