The NYSORA September symposium will be the largest and most ambitious to date. In addition to the intense parallel programs with some of the most sought-after national and international speakers, NYSORA will offer a multitude of highly versatile and focused workshops. To meet the demands raised by the delegates, the Saturday morning workshop will focus on basic ultrasound-based regional anesthesia techniques designed for colleagues who are novice in the field. Delegates will be able to scan, become familiar with the ultrasound anatomy and practice on a meat-model to develop knowledge of anatomy, basic ultrasonography and needle maneuvering. The Saturday afternoon workshops will be geared for intermediate and advanced level delegates. In addition to the basic techniques, the intermediate workshop will also focus on expanding range of ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks as well as more interactive discussion with the faculty. The workshop on ultrasound-guided pain procedures will include special sessions designed for the pain clinicians who would like to start utilizing ultrasound-guided pain prevention techniques. Finally, colleagues who are in need of more advanced direction will have the opportunity to attend our advanced nerve block workshop. This session is intended for those who already practice ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and are in need of advanced instruction. Sunday’s workshops will be more in depth compared to previous years. All Sunday workshop sessions will be preceded by a short review of anatomy upon which the delegates will see practical demonstrations and scanning techniques.
