This year’s Practical Aspects of Pediatric Anesthesia and Critical Care Course offered by Harvard Medical School and the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital includes presentations on ground breaking research, audience participation in simulation scenarios, an emphasis on risk management in the perioperative setting and an opportunity to interact with our faculty during the course. We are very pleased to offer a complimentary wine reception following our simulation session in which we can all enjoy the beautiful setting of the Copley Plaza Hotel. Several new innovations which we have done for this course include the addition national and international guest faculty, optional breakfast breakout panels, and a pediatric MOCA session. In addition to our excellent Boston Children's Anesthesia faculty, this year we are delighted to include Myron Yaster, MD from Baltimore to talk about risk tolerance and Peter Laussen, MBBS from Toronto to talk about risk management. In addition, Baruch Krauss, MD from our Emergency Department will discuss distraction techniques during induction.
We are also pleased to inculde hands-on workshops on the Pediatric Airway and Regional Pain Blocks. For those interested in completing their Pediatric MOCA requirements-a session will be offered on Sunday for up to 5 participants. These participants are entitled to reduced tuition for our pediatric review course.
