MOCA: Pediatric Simulation Course

Boston Children's Hospital

Saturday, November 15, 2014 to Saturday, November 15, 2014

Boston, Massachusetts
United States of America
Boston Children's Hospital

Boston Children’s Hospital was recently endorsed by the ASA Simulation network to offer Pediatric MOCA® Simulation courses. Our faculty has developed challenging scenarios for the experienced pediatric anesthesiologist as well as the general practitioner. This 6-hour program takes place in the operating rooms and recovery area of Boston Children’s Hospital. It includes an introduction to the basic principles of crisis resource management, teamwork and communication, 4-5 different pediatric scenarios, each followed by a debriefing session, and a final summary discussion. Our simulation group is small, limited to 4-5 participants and 2-3 faculty members, to enhance the individual experience and facilitate lively interaction. No grades are given; this experience is designed for learning, not evaluation; and participation satisfies the ABA’s MOCA® Simulation requirement. If you, your colleagues or your fellows are looking for a simulation course for the recertification in anesthesiology, please join us to practice and review challenging cases in a realistic, friendly and pediatric-oriented environment.
