Claiming Annual Meeting CME Credit

The American Society of Anesthesiologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ASA designates the Annual Meeting for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits,™ with the amount varying each year. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AMA requires that CME providers record the actual number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ claimed by physicians.

Self-print CME certificates are available during and after the meeting. ASA provides computers and printers in designated areas at the Annual Meeting, or attendees can enter session attendance information and print their own certificates from any computer with an Internet connection. In keeping with AMA requirements, the earliest that CME credit can be claimed for a session is the day after the session took place (For instance, Saturday sessions can be claimed no earlier than Sunday).
