ASA Resident Component - What's New?

Write a Resolution: Impact Our Future

The ASA annual meeting is just around the corner, October 17 - 21, in New Orleans, Louisiana. There will be many events solely for residents. One in specific I want to personally invite each of you to attend is the Resident Component House of Delegates (HOD) on Saturday, October 17th from 7:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Sheraton New Orleans. Our House of Delegates is the business meeting of the resident section where issues and resolutions important to residents will be discussed. In addition, we will hold our elections for the ASA Resident Component Governing Council. The Resident House of Delegates also considers resolutions on any topic pertinent to anesthesiology practice or anesthesia residency training.

Click on the links at the bottom of this page to obtain instructions on how to write an ASA resolution and how a resolution is processed by the ASA.

Resolutions are due by September 11, 2009 and can be emailed to residentcomponent@asahq.org or mailed to the ASA Resident Component, 520 N. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL 60068-2573.

We encourage anyone with a good idea to submit a resolution. Resolutions in the ASARC HOD set the priorities of the ASARC Governing Council and offer material for excellent discussion during our meeting. If a resolution is approved it can definitely affect change and improvements in our specialty. Contact any member of the Resident Component Governing Council for assistance. Officers are listed at www.asahq.org/asarc/governing.html.

Be active and stay involved. Your future depends on it!
See you in New Orleans!

Sincerely,

Erica J. Stein, M.D.
