Drug Shortage Summit Statement

Washington D.C. — (November 9, 2010) 

Four leading health care groups co-convened a Drug Shortages Summit on Friday, November 5 in Bethesda, MD, including representatives from the FDA, generic drug manufacturers, drug wholesalers and representatives from the co-convening organizations. The co-conveners, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), released a statement after the summit that can be viewed here.
