San Francisco Run For The Warriors® honors wounded and families of the fallen

American Society of Anesthesiologists and Hope For The Warriors® invite all to run

San Francisco — (October 7, 2013)

The San Francisco Run For The Warriors® sponsored by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) will be held at the Brannan Street Wharf on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 a.m. to coincide with the ANESTHESIOLOGY™ 2013 annual meeting.  This is the 4th annual Run For The Warriors® sponsored by ASA. Registration for the 5K is $30 with special pricing for service members. All proceeds from the San Francisco Run For The Warriors® will benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.

In keeping with tradition, the event will begin with an opening ceremony to honor local wounded heroes and families of the fallen and provide a time to remember those who have given of themselves in the line of duty.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to all men and women who have served our country and sacrificed for our freedom,” said John Zerwas, M.D., ASA President. “ASA is proud to partner with Hope For The Warriors® and to provide service members and their families resources and support.”

“This is the 4th year that ASA has sponsored a Run For The Warriors® event and we could not be more grateful for their ongoing support,” Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® president said.  “Their dedication to our service members and their families is evident and we are excited to partner with ASA for yet another Run.”
