CMS Correction Notice to the 2009 Physician Fee Schedule

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a
correction notice to the 2009 Physician Fee Schedule. The 2009 schedule
as published in November 2008 listed an incorrect global period of 90
days for CPT® codes:
63650 – Revision or removal of spinal neurostimulator electrode percutaneous array(s) or plate/paddle(s)
63685 – Insertion or replacement of spinal neurostimulator pulse generator or receive, direct or inductive coupling
63688 – Revision or removal of implanted spinal neurostimulator pulse generator or receiver
These codes will have a 10 day global period for services provided on/after January 1, 2009. The notice appears in the December 31, 2008 Federal Register.
