CMS Responds to ASA Letter on Hospital Interpretive Guidelines

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently responded to ASA’s January 18, 2010, letter stating ASA’s perspective and concerns with revisions to the hospital interpretive guidelines that impact anesthesia services. The letter provides some additional context and rationale for the changes that may assist members in implementation. ASA plans to continue discussions with CMS on these and other issues.
