This year's program of 99 lectures offers a large diversity of
topics covering all aspects of clinical care as well as more recent
changes in the socioeconomic practice of anesthesiology. Topics
including the recent changes incurred by the growth of managed
care and its impact on staffing, compensation, and management
and cost-containment initiatives will be discussed in 13 different
lectures.

negotiate with managed care contract holders. Neal H. Cohen, M.D.,

Other areas specifically selected for the 1997 meeting include:
18 lectures on cardiovascular, 12 critical care, five respiratory,
two trauma and five airway lectures. A significant number of our
lectures have multiple category application and should address
the interests of our diverse membership.
We are fortunate to have gathered an outstanding field of experts
to share their knowledge and experience with our membership. We
hope to provide a diverse program, fulfilling the various needs
