A special program at this year's ASA Annual Meeting, "Strengthening Your Component Society: Moving From Reactive to Proactive," has been designed for component society officers, district/alternate directors and delegates/alternate delegates. The program will be held on Monday, October 20, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 2 at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, California.

Topics on "Maximizing Membership," "Legislative/Regulatory Participation" and "Communication: External-Internal" will be presented by current and past officers of six component societies. The program will be moderated by Bernard V. Wetchler, M.D., Chair, Ad Hoc Committee on Component Society Relationships and past ASA President (1995).
