Patient Safety Videotapes Continue to be Available |

Several titles
in the ASA Patient Safety Videotape Series produced under the
auspices of the Committee on Patient Safety and Risk Management
with executive producer Ellison C. Pierce, Jr., M.D., of the Anesthesia
Patient Safety Foundation continue to be available. These tapes
are available to individual ASA members or hospitals through Glaxo-Smith-Kline
(GSK). Fourteen videotapes are currently available.
To order
a videotape, call the GSK Customer Response Center at (800) 825-5249,
and when prompted, select option 1, "Health Care Professional."
At the next prompt, select option 6 to speak with a representative.
At that time, explain that you would like to order one or more
of the ASA Patient Safety Videotapes and specify which tape you
would like to order by title and order code (presented in the
table below). To expedite the request, it may be helpful to indicate
that the tapes are sponsored by Zofran (ondansetron). Once the
order has been placed, the tapes should be received in seven to
10 working days.

@mcaz.com. It is the hope of our committee that these videotapes
serve as a valuable educational resource for ASA membership.

* Please note that the videotape regarding
sedation and analgesia by nonanesthesiologists is currently undergoing
revision under the direction of Dr. Pierce and Dr. Blitt. This
revision should be completed shortly and probably will be more
valuable than the original videotape.
