O.R. Utilization Spreadsheet Available 

The Practice Management column in the June 2004 ASA NEWSLETTER, "How Many Rooms Do We Need?" describes a spreadsheet designed to help anesthesiology groups calculate and model O.R. utilization rates.  The spreadsheet was developed by leaders of the Kentucky/Ohio Anesthesiology Managers Association, who have generously offered copies to the ASA family through this web site.

Users should note that neither ASA nor KOAMA makes any representation regarding the benefits or accuracy of the spreadsheet, and that no user support is available.  The authors will consider suggestions for improving the spreadsheet, however.  They may be contacted through k.bierstein@asawash.org.  The Excel file consists of  three worksheets.  Users need only enter data (as described in the NEWSLETTER column) in the worksheet entitled "SUMMARY."  The ORUE and DE worksheets contain the programming and  references used by the SUMMARY worksheet.
