Any PGY-2 or greater resident with 18 months or more left in residency or fellowship is eligible to run for office. Candidates must submit an application, a one page personal statement of interest, a one page summary of qualifications and platform statement, a CV (as a Word document), and a letter from the candidate’s anesthesia residency program director. The Junior Co-Editor candidate must also submit a 500- to 700-word writing sample on a topic of his or her choice. All application materials will be available in an online form, though the one page document that summarizes your qualifications and platform is the only material that will be distributed in paper copy at the Resident Component House of Delegates meeting.
Please note the candidate's residency program director should provide a strong letter of support. The program director's letter should clearly state the resident will have ample protected time to prepare for and attend all of the meetings and perform the responsibilities of each respective office. The duties and requirements are listed in the ASA Resident Component Bylaws.
Nominations should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, faxed to 847-825-1692 Attention: Resident Component, or mailed to ASA, Attention: Resident Component, 1061 American Lane, Schaumburg, IL 60173-4973.
