Dr.
Lundy's Wartime Letter, 1943
In this second letter from
the U.S. War Department, John S. Lundy, M.D.,
writes to Dr. Wood regarding the progress
of supplying the U.S. military with qualified
anesthesiologists. Dr. Lundy was asked by
the U.S. Army in 1942 to recommend available
anesthesiologists for the war effort. Dr.
Lundy graded more than 400 available anesthesiologists
from age 27 to 55 as “superior,” “excellent,” “very
satisfactory” or “satisfactory.”
