Dr. Lundy's Wartime Letter, 1943

In this second letter from the U.S. War Department, John S. Lundy, M.D., writes to Dr. Wood regarding the progress of supplying the U.S. military with qualified anesthesiologists. Dr. Lundy was asked by the U.S. Army in 1942 to recommend available anesthesiologists for the war effort. Dr. Lundy graded more than 400 available anesthesiologists from age 27 to 55 as “superior,” “excellent,” “very satisfactory” or “satisfactory.”
