Perioperative Management of the Cancer Patient

The primary goal of this course is to educate healthcare professionals to new advances in the perioperative management of cancer patients through lectures, didactic discussions, and workshops. This course is intended for physicians, nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals who are involved in the care of oncology patients in the setting of surgery. Workshop Topics: - Transthoracic Echocardiography - Regional (TAP blocks, PEC blocks, Paravertebral) - Lung Isolation Techniques - Difficult Airway Case Discussions: - PONV: The MSK Approach - Goal Directed Fluid Therapy - Ethical Issues - Challenges of Sedation In addition to the workshops and case discussions, attendees can select a small group tour of the MSK Josie Robertson Surgical Center for Ambulatory Cancer Surgery.
