ASA seeks participants in surveys for pain CPT® codes

ASA is looking for members willing to participate in upcoming surveys on CPT® codes describing certain pain procedures.  ASA and the AMA/Specialty Society RVS Update Committee (RUC) need your help to assure relative values will be accurately and fairly presented to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) during this process.

This is important to anesthesiologists and other physicians because these values determine the rate at which Medicare and other payers reimburse for procedures. 

We expect to launch these surveys in late February/early March 2009.  They will be in the field for approximately two weeks.  Please contact Sharon Merrick, CCS-P, ASA Coding and Reimbursement Manager, at s.merrick@asawash.org if you would be interested in participating or if you would like any additional information.
