Wall Street Journal “Informed Patient” column highlights ASA Practice Advisory for the Prevention and Management of OR Fires

Comment from ASA member M. Christine Stock, M.D., was included in the February 18, 2009 Wall Street Journal “Informed Patient” column focused on efforts to reduce the occurrence of surgical fires. ASA Education and safety improvement efforts with the release of the Practice Advisory for the Prevention and Management of Operating Room Fires is highlighted as Dr. Stock discussed the risks of fire occurrence for patients during surgery, and efforts than can be made to decrease the occurrence of fires in the OR.
