RAND Report on Anesthesiology Labor Market
(June 14, 2010)
As initially reported at the 2009 ASA Practice Management Conference and in the March 2009 ASA Newsletter Practice Management article, the RAND Corporation finalized and released its “An Analysis of the Labor Markets for Anesthesiology.” Based on surveys of anesthesiologists, CRNAs and anesthesiology directors, as well as demand-based and econometric analyses, the report concludes that a shortage of anesthesiologists and CRNAs is highly likely at the national level.
