House Committees introduce health care reform legislation
Today three key health care committees in the House—Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Education and Labor, or the “Tri-Committee”—have released their version of health care reform legislation.
The Tri-Committee bill represents the second major reform proposal introduced and expected to face Committee consideration. The Senate HELP Committee is currently considering the “Affordable Health Choices Act.” ASA is carefully following the Committees' deliberations. The Senate Finance Committee is expected to release a third proposal following the Congressional Fourth of July recess.
ASA is carefully analyzing the complex Tri-Committee legislation to determine its impact on anesthesiology. We will release additional information next week.
