ASA joins AMA, other specialty societies, in opposing proposed changes to Medicaid GME payments
CMS proposed in the May 23 Federal Register to eliminate the federal Medicaid matching payments for the costs of graduate medical education. Although Congress has created a one-year moratorium on any rule or provisions restricting Medicaid GME payments, the implications of the moratorium are not entirely clear.
ASA recently joined the AMA and other medical specialty societies in sending a letter to CMS objecting to the proposal.
