AAAA joins ASA effort to increase Medicare anesthesia payments

ASA applauds the American Association of Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAAA) for its efforts in securing increased Medicare payments for anesthesia services.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is currently accepting comments for its Proposed 2008 Physician Fee Schedule, which would result in an increase of more than $3.00 per anesthesia unit.  In support of this proposal, AAAA submitted the following comment letter to CMS on July 12, 2007:
