ASA President Orin F. Guidry submits statement regarding Medicare physician payments to the Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce
As part of a two-day hearing on Medicare physician payments, ASA President Orin F. Guidry, M.D., submitted a statement to the Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. His remarks highlight ASA’s participation in the development of quality performance measures, and emphasize the need for Congress’ careful consideration before a “value-based purchasing system” is implemented. Dr. Guidry’s statement stresses that such a system should only be instated alongside positive updates to Medicare physician payments.
