Medical Liability Bill Blocked
Not unexpectedly, the Senate GOP leadership
failed to obtain the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture
and allow debate on S. 2061, the Healthy Mothers and Healthy
Babies Access to Care Act of 2003. The largely party-line
vote was 48 to 45 in favor of considering the legislation.
The Senate leadership intends to bring more specialty
specific medical liability reform bills up for consideration
later in the session. We will keep you advised. Thanks

support the legislation.
