New anesthesiology performance measure proposals for ASA Member review and comment

ASA’s Committee on Performance and Outcomes Measurement (CPOM) has developed a set of five proposed anesthesiology performance measures.  These are based on ASA practice guidelines and are being refined for submission to the AMA Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement.  If approved by several multi-stakeholder panels, these measures could become part of Medicare’s Physician Quality Reporting Initiative or other performance incentive programs.
