As part of the 2007 Doctors Day observance, ASA distributed the Video News Release (VNR), Stop Smoking Before Surgery to more than 800 television stations across the country.
Featured in the video is ASA member David O. Warner, M.D., of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The video explains how stopping smoking can improve surgical outcomes. It also provides information on tools that can help patients quit smoking for good. This is the ninth VNR produced by ASA.
