ASA and the Center for Physician Leadership Excellence (CPLE) have partnered to provide on-line assessment tools to aid in your professional development. The assessment(s) provide you with a comprehensive feedback report that highlights both leadership strengths and opportunities for improvement along with traditional and non-traditional developmental recommendations useful in creating an individual development plan.
This program expands on the simulations used in the Core assessment and targets all aspects of the assessment to Strategic leader positions.
Strategic leader is defined as Physician Directors, Executives or Career Years: 6 and above
What you will learn?
This program is designed to:
Improve your knowledge of effective physician leadership behaviors
Confirm your leadership strengths and areas of development using a variety of perspectives
Understand your potential barriers to successful physician leadership
Create a powerful individual development plan using data from the assessment
Prioritize development opportunities saving valuable time and resources
Participants in the Mid-management assessment (Strategic Leaders) will:
Complete the Hogan Personality Inventory, Hogan Diagnostic Survey and the Motives, Values and Preferences Inventory along with the Watson Glaser Test
Be presented with 9 In-Box Challenges that might be faced by Physician Leaders on the job
Spend 1-hour deciding on the best actions you would take to address each challenge
Participate in “role plays” focused on how you interact with subordinates and peers in times of challenge.
Participate in a 1-hour web-based session with a Lead Assessor discussing each of the challenges in detail
Receive and review a comprehensive individual feedback report including developmental recommendations
Participate in a 45-minute individual feedback and development session with your Lead Assessor
ACCME Accreditation and Designation Statements
The American Society of Anesthesiologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians and will designate a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. (Up to 5.5 CME credits for this course.)
