The American Heart Association (AHA) and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) have teamed to offer the joint AHA-FAER Career Development Award (CDA) to develop the next generation of physician-investigators in anesthesiology conducting cardiovascular and/or cerebrovascular disease related research. While standard AHA CDAs are comprised of $231,000 in funding, FAER contributed an additional $19,000 to this co-sponsored grant to bring the total funding for the AHA-FAER CDA to $250,000 over a three-year period.
The AHA-FAER CDA, administered by the AHA, supports highly promising anesthesiologists holding an MD or DO in the early years of their first professional appointment, to explore innovative questions or pilot studies that will provide preliminary data and training to assure the applicant’s future success as a physician-investigator. This award also includes funding for awardees to attend FAER's career development meeting twice during the three-year grant period.
Those interested in applying for the AHA-FAER CDA can do so using the AHA's CDA grant process. Links for use in this regard are provided below.
