2018 Public Comment Period on Draft Ambulatory Measures

The American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia are seeking comments on draft quality measures currently under development. The measures were developed by a jointly-convened Technical Expert Panel for quality improvement purposes and potential use in federal payment programs.

The call for public comment is open from September 5 through September 26, 2018.

Quality Measures Available for Comment:

Ambulatory Post-Discharge Patient Assessment
Discharge to a Responsible Patient Escort

Hyperglycemia Control
Point-of-Care Glucose Testing

Ambulatory Multimodal Pain Management

The public comment period is an integral step in the measure development process and is an opportunity for relevant stakeholders to give their input and ensure the measures are meaningful and appropriate indicators of quality and are feasible for individuals and practices to collect.
