2003 Art Exhibit: ‘Flower Power’ Blooms Again in San Francisco

Shades of Haight/Ashbury and “Laugh-In” colored the 2003 ASA Art Exhibit as bouquets of flowers lined the gallery walls. This year’s “Flower Power” theme was a big hit with the artists, writers and the viewing public. If you closed your eyes, the music of the Mamas and Papas, the Doors and Jefferson Airplane filled your soul with peace and love. The exhibit’s bi-level location, adorned with psychedelically colored plush flowers, made it the perfect location for viewing the artwork. Revelers at the opening party dined on such delicacies as: psychotropic mushrooms, Alice B. Toklas brownies, Boone’s Farm wine and Ripple (in name only). All comers had a “groovy” time.
