The ASA Committee on Practice Parameters has appointed
a Task Force on Brain Function Monitoring and Intraoperative
Awareness to develop a practice parameter to assist
anesthesiologists and other health care providers
on this important issue. To facilitate the development
of this practice parameter, the task force is conducting
a structured open forum for ASA members to be held
at the ASA Annual Meeting on Monday, October 25,
from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in Pavillion 11 at the Las
Vegas Hilton.
The purpose of the open forum is to provide an opportunity
for ASA members to present oral and written testimony
on the content and impact of this parameter. In
particular the task force seeks testimony on clinical
issues, cost, resources and feasibility.
The open forum will consist of a slide presentation
by members of the task force; during the slide presentation,
there will be several structured, time-limited opportunities
for questions or comments related to the presented
material.
