| Again
this year, the ASA Art Exhibit provided Annual Meeting
attendees a quiet oasis in which to escape, if for
only a short time, from the many other busy aspects
of the meeting. The location was perfect —
close to, but not in the midst of, the exhibit hall,
on one floor, and sizeable enough to provide for
a tasteful display of the incredible artistic skills
of ASA members and their families.
If you did not get a chance to see the exhibit in
person, visit the Annual Meeting section of the
ASA Web site <www2.ASAhq.org>
later this month. Appearing there will be a series
of photographs showing a timeline of pictures spanning
from the initial unpacking to the first-place award
winners. Also included are photos of committee members
arranging and hanging the display, the judging and
the general layout of the exhibit.
The committee owes its sincere appreciation to J.
David Alpern, a member of the office staff at the
University of Virginia, who worked tirelessly to
make the exhibit a success.
Judges this year were Mary Warner, Associate Professor
of Art, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Nancy
Deaner, Las Vegas Arts Council. And the winners
are:
