Scientific and Educational Exhibit Award Winners

he Committee on Scientific and Educational Exhibits has announced the award winners for the 2004 Annual Meeting. Forty-five scientific and educational exhibits were displayed. The winners were:

First-Place

“Vigilance — Computer Technology to Create an O.R. Suite Without Walls.” Presenters were Paul J. St. Jacques, M.D., Nimesh Patel, M.D., Michael S. Higgins, M.D., and Leland Lancaster, M.D., Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee.

“Defining and Refining a Formalized Program of Residency Training in Difficult Airway Management: 25 Years of Experience,” submitted by Abdel R. El-Ganzouri, M.D., Anthony D. Ivankovich, M.D., Kenneth J. Tuman, M.D., David M. Rothenberg, M.D., Arvind Rajagopal, M.B., and Sandra C. Toleikis, from Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

“Anesthesiology Review Flash Cards for the Personal Digital Assistant,” submitted by Cleveland S. Waterman, M.D., from the University of California, Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, California.

“Difficult Airway Management: Improving Your Odds,” submitted by Juri O. McDowell, M.D., Michael E. Bilenker, M.D., Kaew Supbornsug, M.D., Cheryl K. Gooden, M.D., David C. Kramer, M.D., Irene P. Osborn, M.D., and Marci Malone, M.D., from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York.

Scientific and clinical value, originality, creativity and quality of the presentation are considered when judging for the awards. The committee thanks all those who took the time to develop and present their exhibits.
