Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists Summer Meeting



he Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists summer meeting was held on August 14-15, 2004, at the Four Seasons Resort, Las Colinas, Dallas, Texas. The theme was “Updates in Anesthesiology” for category 1 continuing medical education credits of 7.25 hours.

The objectives for the meeting were to recognize the changes in the future of operating rooms, assess controversies in outpatient anesthesiology, identify the updates in neuroanesthesiology, distinguish the professional liability crises, utilize updates in critical care medicine, prepare for airway catastrophes in obstetrical anesthesiology, evaluate the effects of chiropractic care, distinguish potential perioperative hazards of herbal medicines and recognize the ventilatory modes of new anesthesia medicine ventilators.

The faculty included Jessica A. Alexander, M.D., Jeffrey L. Apfelbaum, M.D., Timothy M. Bittenbinder, M.D., William Burke, Ph.D., Aaron K. Calodnye, M.D., Jane C.K. Fitch, M.D., William Kissinger, M.D., Keith P. Lewis, M.D., Eugene P. Sinclair, M.D., Maya S. Suresh, M.D., and Michael H. Wall, M.D.

ASA President Eugene P. Sinclair, M.D., with Jane C.K. Fitch, M.D., President of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists (OSA) at the OSA Annual Meeting held at the Four Seasons Resort, Las Colinas, Dallas, Texas, on August 14-15, 2004. Dr. Sinclair was one of the principal speakers, and he presented an “ASA Update” to attendees.
