Committee on Scientific and Educational Exhibits
has announced the winners for the 2005 Annual Meeting.
Fifty-one scientific and educational exhibits were
displayed. The winners were:
First Place
“A Comprehensive Multimodal Perioperative
Analgesic Regimen With an Emphasis on Peripheral
Nerve Blockade Improves the Perioperative Outcomes
of Patients Undergoing Total Joint Arthroplasty.”

Second Place
“How to Avoid Death for a Dollar! Implementation
of Perioperative Cardiac Risk Reduction Therapy
(PCRRT): Beta Blockers and Clonidine (BBAC),”
submitted by Arthur W. Wallace, M.D., Ph.D., and
Gerald M. Ozanne, M.D., University of California-San
Francisco.
Third Place
“Interactive Regional Anesthesia Resident
Training by Real-Time Anatomy Imaging,”
submitted by Gerbrand J. Groen, M.D., Ph.D., Nizar
Moayeri University Medical Centre, Utrecht, The
Netherlands.
Scientific and clinical value, originality, creativity
and quality of the presentation are considered when
judging the awards. The committee thanks all those
who took the time to develop and present their exhibits.
