Retired Anesthesiologists

Stay engaged and help guide the direction of the specialty.

Put your deep experience to work to benefit emerging anesthesiologists and the future of your specialty. ASA values your knowledge and expertise, encouraging retired members to contribute to policy discussions and mentor up-and-coming physicians.

If you've been an Active or Affiliate ASA member for 20+ years, or have given significant service to the society as defined by attaining the FASA designation, and have fully retired from practice*, there's no fee to retain your annual membership. You may also choose membership in your component of permanent resident or of previous practice, if such category is available. Membership in a state society is not required for ASA Retired members. To change your member category to Retired, email the ASA Member Services team.

*A retired member is defined as an individual who no longer receives any income from the clinical practice, research, or administrative work related to anesthesiology.
