AQI Registry Research Rotation

This rotation is an opportunity for anesthesiology residents to learn more about leveraging the AQI clinical data registries and demonstrate the skills required to utilize large retrospective datasets in planning, development, analysis, and presentation of hypothesis-driven research and quality improvement projects.

The AQI Registry Research Rotation has been approved by the American Board of Anesthesiology® (ABA) to count toward residency research rotation credit.

A $5,000 stipend will be provided to offset expenses.

Core Requirements

  • Anesthesiology resident
  • Foundational knowledge of clinical study designs
  • Ability to use R, SAS, or other statistical software
  • Strong professional skills (e.g. communication, collaboration, and leadership)
  • Experience or certification in data science, biostatistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

Rotation Overview

  • 4-week, full-time rotation facilitated remotely (min 37.5 hrs/wk)
  • One resident per three independent rotations per year
  • AQI-facilitated data use for hypothesis-driven research
  • Routine staff and clinician mentor guidance and oversight
