Dates: The ASA Call for Measure Concepts is open from Monday, October 27, 2025 through Friday, November 25, 2025.
The ASA Committee on Performance and Outcomes Measurement (CPOM) invites interested parties to submit measure concepts for consideration in the 2026 measure development cycle for implementation in the 2026 Performance Year. Quality measure reporting is essential for local quality improvement activities and the success of physician anesthesiologists in federal pay-for-reporting programs, including the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The ASA is dedicated to expanding the set of measures available for anesthesiologists to report.
CPOM invites members to submit measure concepts related to anesthesia care across all subspecialties and phases of the perioperative period, with particular interest in high-priority process or outcome measures related to (1) Ambulatory care, (2) Intraoperative care, (3) Neuroanesthesia, and (4) Perioperative care.
The ASA is committed to ensuring the measure development process follows the requirements set forth by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Measures Management System (MMS) and the CMS Consensus Based Entity – Battelle Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM).
