ASA president-elect discusses drug shortages amid COVID-19 pandemic

ASA President-elect Beverly Philip, M.D., FASA, and Lee Fleisher, M.D., were quoted in a April 29 CQ Roll Call article on how a shortage of painkillers and sedatives for COVID-19 patients is causing concerned hospital groups to seek changes to increase the supply. The article was published in nearly 15 additional publications including the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (Fort Worth, Texas) and Idaho Statesman (Boise, Idaho).
