ASA’s support of FDA’s approval of over-the-counter naloxone makes news
News of ASA’s support of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s approval of over-the-counter naloxone, a life-saving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, and recommendations for the public to learn to recognize and respond to an overdose, has been featured in
TIME Magazine,
Crain’s Chicago Business, and
MedPage Today. It also aired on AP Radio, resulting in at least 59 placements with 42 different outlets. “I think that incorporating questions about the presence and availability of narcotics in the home, stressing the importance of having naloxone available, are going to be increasingly perceived as part of being a good physician, no matter what specialty you practice,” ASA President Michael W. Champeau, M.D., FAAP, FASA, said in TIME.
