These organizations have confirmed that they are actively seeking anesthesiologists to go to Haiti.
Project Hope anticipates deploying volunteers to assist onboard the USNS Comfort. Additionally, Project HOPE is working to identify additional needs in several of the local hospitals in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding area. All interested volunteers will need to register through our website. By registering online, interested volunteers will be notified as additional details and opportunities are identified.

University of Miami is actively recruiting anesthesiologist volunteers. Please contact Paulette Richards and include your name, contact information, list your dates of availability, language fluency, skills, specialties, title, country of citizenship.
Please note, starting February 20, 2010 deployment to Haiti will require a commitment of 7 days of volunteer work and 1 day of travel. If any of you are available and willing to travel on these dates please reply to this email, if you are not selected for this shift, you will receive a future email with the next available flights.

The Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the US Department of Health and Human Services seeks to identify specialty physicians who are willing to volunteer to deploy with HHS National Disaster Medical Assistance teams in Haiti. They are specifically looking for anesthesiologists. There is a preference for Creole or French speakers and those currently credentialed through the Medical Reserve Corps in their states, or the ESAR-VHP (Emergency Services Advanced Registration of Volunteer Health Personnel) program. R.A. Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland - ASA Member, Yvette Fouche'-Weber is organizing anesthesiology relief efforts for the R.A. Cowley shock trauma center, University of Maryland. The efforts will continue for about six - nine months, and they need outside volunteers in order to sustain such a mission. Please e-mail Dr. Fouche’-Weber directly if you are interested in volunteering.
