American Society of Anesthesiologists Announces TeamHealth as ASA Group Practice Supporter

CHICAGO – The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) today announced TeamHealth, a physician-founded and -led, facility-based practice with more than 750 affiliated physician anesthesiologists, has joined ASA’s Group Practice Supporter Program.

Through this collaboration, TeamHealth will work with ASA and its more than 60,000 member anesthesiologists to deliver education and thought leadership focused on optimizing operating room performance and advancing patient safety and high-quality care.

“We are proud to collaborate with ASA to share practical expertise that strengthens anesthesiology practices and supports clinicians nationwide,” said Elmer Choi, M.D., FASA, TeamHealth Senior Vice President, Clinical, Anesthesiology.

TeamHealth’s participation will support the development of solutions across key practice management and public policy areas, including workforce planning, staffing, contract negotiations, coding and billing, operational efficiency in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, fair and affordable access to care, and anesthesiology reimbursement.

Launched in 2025, the ASA Group Practice Supporter Program strengthens collaboration between the Society and anesthesiology group practices delivering care across the country. The program creates opportunities for these organizations to share insights and engage in addressing the evolving challenges of modern anesthesiology practice.
