HHS Report on CMS Management of MACRA Quality Payment Program

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS - OIG) has released a report describing the results of its early review of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)’s management of MACRA’s Quality Payment Program (QPP).

OIG reports that CMS has made good progress toward implementation of the QPP but did identify two critical vulnerabilities.  As stated in the report, these are “Providing sufficient guidance and technical assistance to ensure that clinicians are ready to participate in the QPP and developing IT systems to support data reporting, scoring, and payment adjustment.”
