ASA Member to Head State Medical Association

On February 4, 2019, the Mississippi State Medical Association (MSMA) Board of Trustees announced that ASA member Claude Brunson, M.D., FASA will serve as the association’s Executive Director.
 
"Physicians in Mississippi are on the front lines in the fight to make Mississippi a healthier state, and I am excited to be able to focus every day on supporting my colleagues through our state medical association," Brunson said. 
 
An ASA advocate for patient safety in and out of the operating room, Dr. Brunson is a Past-President of MSMA and longtime member of the ASA Board of Directors. He will begin his MSMA full-time duties April 1, 2019.
