On Tuesday, April 21, the American Society of Anesthesiologists urged the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to suspend work to finalize the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model.

Given the state of the current public health emergency and responsibilities of hospitals to respond to this global pandemic, ASA believes suspension is the appropriate course of action.
