ASA Member Appointed to Virginia Board of Medicine
On September 18, Governor Ralph Northam (D-VA)
appointed American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) member Milly Rambhia, MD, to the Virginia Board of Medicine. Dr. Rambhia will serve a two-year term that will expire in 2022.
Dr. Rambhia serves as a staff anesthesiologist at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington and is affiliated with Kaiser Permanente Falls Church Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Reston Hospital Center. Dr. Rambhia completed her Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine fellowship at Duke University, and residency at Northwestern University.
With this appointment, two physician anesthesiologists are serving on the Virginia Board of Medicine. Lori Conklin, MD, is Vice-President.
Physician anesthesiologists are strongly encouraged to seek out appointments for various regulatory agencies to protect and promote patient safety. Given the range of issues considered by state boards of medicine, osteopathy, nursing, health and/or insurance, physician anesthesiologists are extremely valuable as questions concerning patient centered, physician-led care arise.
ASA congratulates and thanks Dr. Rambhia for her service and dedication to patient safety in Virginia!
